A PARTHIAN GLAZED POTTERY JUG
CIRCA 2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.
Blue in color, of globular form with an unglazed raised foot, the cylindrical neck ribbed, the twin handles with crenellated thumb-rests, the body decorated with two concentric bands below the neck, and curved diagonal hatched patterning under the glaze
5 7/8 in. (14.8 cm.) high

The Estate of David Anavian, Los Angeles, imported into the U.S. in 1979.
