Recorked at the Château in 1981. Château-embossed metal capsules, one corroded and damaged with slightly raised cork in lot 119. Bin-soiled labels. Levels: lot 117 into neck, lot 118 top-shoulder, lot 119 upper-shoulder
Tasting note: An exquisite bottle at the Overton tasting in 1979 and a rather varnishy one at Lloyd Flatt's in 1988. More recently, a spectacular, recorked, double magnum: fragrant, gentle, beautifully balanced. Last noted at Walter Eigensatz's tasting, May 1999 At best ***** M.B.
