An early Victorian Scottish coffee pot
of tapering circular form, on a spreading foot and with a leaf-capped and shell-fluted rising curved spout, double scroll handle and domed hinged cover with pineapple finial, the body and cover each decorated with rococo flowers, foliage, C-scrolls and scalework, one side engraved with a crest with motto above, J. McKay, Edinburgh 1837 - 10¾in. (27.25cm.), 24.75oz.
