of circular form, on a rising foot decorated with a frieze of stylised scrolling foliage and roundels between narrow beaded lines, the bowl with an everted rim die-rolled with griffins, flowers and foliage, the centre engraved: "Louise" within a floral and foliate cartouche, Whiting Manufacturing Co., Providence, Rhode Island - 9¼in.
