Lot Essay

Royal Academician Mick Moon works as both a printmaker and painter creating images that collage together words and abstract forms into a poetic tableau of memories. In these paintings, a sense of travel is suggested by the tea-chest style lettering printed all over the calico canvas. The graffiti-like scrawl on the surface is also reminiscent of the directional instructions written on removal crates.
