Robert Scott was a successful bookseller and publisher, specialising in importing scholarly works in Latin from the Continent. The sale in 1688 was organised by his former apprentice Benjamin Walford and was made up of a large part of his stock. Scott counted Samuel Pepys and Robert Hooke amoung his customers. Munby & Coral, p. 8; Wing (2nd ed.) S-2080
