With the half-title. Engraved frontispiece, part hand-coloured, and 5 engraved plates. (Lacking errata leaf and without final blank, light spotting on the edges.) Contemporary mottled half-calf and marbled boards, red morocco spine label, edges green (light wear at the extremities). Provenance: Robert Gregory (contemporary title signature).
FIRST EDITION. Edited by James Anderson, who adds 5 appendices relating to the natural and economic history of sheep. The title bears the contemporary signature of a Robert Gregory, perhaps the politician and director of the East India Company (c.1729-1810). ABPC records just one copy at auction since 1975.
