A RARE WHITE JADE 'PRUNUS TRUNK ' LIBATION CUP
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The deep cup with irregular sides carved at a prunus tree trunk issuing flowering branches, with a chilong clinging to the rim forming a handle to one side and with two smaller chilong opposite, the milky-white material with dark russet inclusions

The models for this vessel were bamboo and rhinoceros horn libation cups carved in the 17th and 18th century.
