A GREYISH-WHITE JADE BALUSTER VASE AND COVER
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
Of flattened elongated baluster form, carved around the mid-section in high relief with a dense formal arrangement of lotus blooms borne on scrolling leafy stems between lappet bands on the waisted foot and shoulder, the neck flanked by animal mask handles suspending loose rings, the domed cover similarly decorated with lotus scroll below a large qilin finial, the rims encircled by keyfret, the stone of an even greyish-white tone
