The deep bowl with rounded sides supported on short footring, the exterior delicately enamelled in multi-coloured peonies with green scrolling foliage within double-line borders, the interior well with similar medallion enclosing two flower heads

Lot Essay

A Yongzheng doucai bowl with similar flower-scroll design is in the Paul and Helen Bernat Collection. Examples of similar bowls but of smaller size were sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 2 November 1999, lot 532 (10.2 cm. diam.); and at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 26 October 2003, lot 1 (13 cm. diam.).
