The model possesses the intriguing complication of a perpetual calendar mechanism with retrograde date hand, and is one of the very few perpetual calendar wristwatches with sweep centre seconds. Furthermore, it displays another of Patek Philippe's celebrated traditions - the "officer's"-style case, featuring a hinged gold dust cover that protects the sapphire crystal display back.
