BOX: brass drop handles, vacant brass cartouche to lid, mid section with silvered plaque inscribed '1977 THE QUEEN'S SILVER JUBILEE', brass bowl numbered '29' and gimbal DIAL: 120 mm. diameter engraved and silvered dial with seconds and state-of-wind subsidiaries, signed 'Thomas Mercer/MAKER TO THE ADMIRALTY/ST. ALBANS ENGLAND/No. 9', blued steel hands MOVEMENT: main assembly carrying the line fusee and barrel with centre wheel, the sub-assembly with three smaller pillars carrying the remainder of the train, cut bimetallic balance with circular temperature compensation weights and palladium helical spring to spring detent escapement, the spotted top plate signed 'Thomas Mercer St. Albans No. 9', the dial plate punch numbered '1163N'; tipsy winding key
