A GEORGE II MAHOGANY DEMI-LUNE FOLDING TEA TABLE
THE COLLECTION OF THE LATE MR. PETER MICHALLAT (LOTS 246-250) Peter Michallat of Lower Failand, Bristol, assembled his collection over many decades, beginning in 1961. Michallat was an avid collector, and at the same time he built a successful business dealing in antiques. His breadth of knowledge spanned furniture and pictures, glass and silver. Over time, these varied interests fuelled his business while his personal interests began to gravitate towards fine English furniture, silver and clocks. The majority of his collection was sold at Christie's, London, 23 January 2011; the following five lots represent a brief glimpse at the style of one of South West England's most highly regarded antiques dealers.
