BEAULIEU VINEYARD
Upon arriving in Rutherford in 1900, Fernande de Latour was struck by the beauty of the land surrounding her and gasped "Beau lieu!" She and her husband, Georges, immediately invested in property and established the Beaulieu Vineyard. A prescient purchase of Phylloxera-resistent rootstock in 1906 helped to establish the site as one of the premier US producers of fine wine. By selling their wine to the Catholic Church of San Francisco, the vineyard was able to continuously produce wine through Prohibition and in 1936 they began producing their flagship wine: Georges de Latour Private Reserve.

This lot affords the opportunity to taste several vintages of the original "cult" California wine, as well as a sampling of their "Special Label Burgundy," a wine only produced four times in over a century of winemaking at this estate.
