Levels: three bottom neck, five very top shoulder, one top shoulder; two lightly corroded capsules, nine lightly bin soiled labels, one bin soiled label
"The '78 Palmer was produced from the dramatic conditions of the last "miracle vintage" (the latest vintage ever at Palmer). It is a blend of 53 Cabernet Sauvignon and 40 Merlot with 5 Cabernet Franc and 2 Petit Verdot. On the nose it shows tomatoes and leather, with notes of pepper, tobacco and a floral element that Bernard de Laage qualifies as "peony", although my knowledge of botany does not extend this far. On the palate the wine is supple and open. Drinking at it's peak. At a Christie's Masterclass for Chteau Palmer, November 2010"
