Neighboring the vineyards of Pétrus, Vieux Château Certan, and Ch. La Conseillante, Ch. L'Evangile is one of Pomerol's great unclassified estates.
In 1990, the estate was purchased by Domaines Barons de Rothschild, the parent company of Ch. Lafite Rothschild. The grand vin is made with predominantly Merlot blended with some Cabernet Franc, to produce what is described as "...full and elegant wines, with an unmistakable finesse and bouquet."
