Taken from the Book of Daniel by the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches, Susannah and the Elders refers to the story of a Hebrew wife Susannah, who was watched as she bathed by two lecherous elders. On her way home, she was met by these men who threatened to blackmail her with a false story of her meeting a lover unless she agreed to a secret liaison. While she refused, the story goes on to highlight the eventual triumph of good over evil as the older men are finally tried and put to death.
