A Bird in Cloud Country is a memory that has been instinctively imagined and meticulously prepared. Eustaquio's work is woven out of the idea that memories are made up of infinite elements loosely pieced together. Every experience, once over, shatters into millions of fragments, each with its own set of feelings, thoughts and faces. Many of which will be lost forever. To create a memory therefore, is to complete an intricate puzzle. Yet there's a catch. You will only achieve a resemblance of what happened. There will always be missing pieces. There will always be questions forever left unanswered.

It is this sense of wondering that Eustaquio creates in her work. "When you wake up from a dream, you try to capture images of that dream but it's almost impossible to capture them whole, and there's always the sense that you're not remembering it right." A Bird in Cloud Country is that instant. "Where a rose melds into a bird as one... there is still the sense that they are floating, much like lucid dreaming", explains Eustaquio.

A Bird in Cloud Country is a puzzle built on the artist's ideas, but it is also a puzzle that Eustaquio shares with all. In every one of us are distinctive experiences, ideas and emotions, with which to complete the puzzle and unearth its meaning. In each of us belong the missing pieces.
