Lot Essay

James Schulz was an independent New York-based watchmaker. He is best known for custom made complicated timepieces. He competed with top Swiss manufacturers like Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin to produce some of the finest watches ever made. His rare and unique platinum minute repeating perpetual calendar single button chronograph button sold at Christie's in November 2006 for over 1.3 million Swiss Francs.
