Lot Essay

Marcel-Louis Baugniet was a Belgian painter, designer and writer. He opened his own decorating business in 1930 and designed functional furniture working with a polychrome, cellulose-based lacquer. He was influenced by the geometry and constructivism of the Bauhaus movement.
