8o (169 x 105 mm). With list of books printed for George Dawes at end (F7) and final blank. Engraved frontispiece of the Royal arms, folding table, ornamental head-pieces and initials. (Small hole on C7 catching a few letters, 4 words crossed out in ink on F2 verso, few small stains.) Contemporary English crimson goatskin gilt, covers with two double-fillet panels with fleuron device in corners, smooth spine ruled in gilt, green morocco lettering piece, edges gilt, remnant of old brass hardware (small split to front hinge, few small repairs). Provenance: inscription in another hand? on verso of title: "Ex dono Authoris prosidio veritas 5 Febr. 1674/5;" R.A. Chesmente (early ownership signature on title); annotation in a later hand in margin of title.

FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, with ex dono inscription, and most certainly bound for presentation. Brydall published 36 legal treaties, and left 30 others in manuscript upon his death. Moule Bibliotecha heraldica pp.198-9; Wing B-5261.
