Oblong 2o (450 x 763 mm). 18 chromolithographs and 16 triptych woodcuts mounted with writing in French in red ink and pencil in the margin (some light staining, worming and marginal tears). Maroon cloth boards tied with cord, green lettering-piece gilt (stained and rubbed, lacking one tie).

In most instances, the chromolithographs are mounted on the left and the triptychs on the right until the last two plates. The images depict a number of scenes from the Sino-Japanese war, mostly taking place in July and August 1894. They depict various stages of the Battle of Gason, the capture of Sai-Kan, the battle of Tin Sen, and the capture of El Jio. The album also features images of the palace of the Chinese Emperor and the King of Korea. Additionally, Colonel Ohima Toshio, Minister Otori, Colonel Nozu and Commander Kushima are depicted.
