First Edition, watermarked "J. WHATMAN 1801" as called for in Abbey. Though published individually in 1803, this work was sometimes bound with Views in Egypt (1801) and Views in Palestine (1804) and a general title page in 1804 and sold as Views in Egypt, Palestine and the Ottoman Empire. It contains finely-produced plates depicting "historical observations and incidental illustrations of the manners and customs of the natives" of Caramania, the islands of Rhodes and Cyprus, and the cities of Corinth, Carthage and Tripoli.
