FIRST EDITION, later issue dust jacket, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by Steinbeck on title: "For Muriel Luckart, with good luck, John Steineck, 1946." Steinbeck was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Literature in 1940 for this novel. One of the most influential novels of the 20th century, The Grapes of Wrath was made into a film starring Henry Fonda as Tom Joad, the Oklahoma farmer forced to leave his Dust Bowl home and search for a better life in California.
