The case of typical form, the hood with canted angles, the arched moulded top surmounted by a giltwood atlas and two (later) gilt brass ornaments. The brass dial with an engraved tune selection ring to the top above a moonphase with zodiac symbols, subsidiary rings for slaan/niet slaan and speelen/niet speelen, Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed, John Berry London, matted centre with subsidiary second ring, sectors for day of week and month, three ringed winding holes, date aperture above VI, C-scroll spandrels to the corners, the six pillar three train movement with anchor escapement, playing twelve tunes with 24 hammers on fourteen bells, the 29.5 cm. pinned brass cylinder mounted to the reverse of the movement; pendulum, crank key, three large brass weights
