CASE: surmounted by a turned fluted urn hung with laurel swag, above stepped upper section, acanthus-carved waisted scroll sides on fluted base, and tapering patera headed feet, previously green-painted and re-decorated; DIAL: white enamel dial with pierced gilt hands, above a glazed front; MOVEMENT: with twin chain fusees, anchor escapement, striking the hours and half hours on two bells, the back plate signed 'RUTGERUS/VANMEURS/AMSTERDAM'; pendulum
