With tapering octagonal sighted barrel signed 'ENAMI YAKUBEI NAOMITSU SAKU' and marked 'NANBAN KANE' (Foreign Iron) on the underside, brass back-action lock, traditional three-quarter stock inlaid with brass panels, mostly engraved with flower-heads including one beneath the lock with a silver border, a brass disc on the underside of the butt engraved with two Japanese characters, and brass breech-band and barrel-band
