With one-piece skull rising to a roped comb and embossed on each side with a pair of recessed scrolls, the comb pierced with lining-points and etched with scrollwork retaining traces of gilt finish, visor and prow-shaped upper bevor each with later bands and panels of etched scrollwork against a blackened granular ground, lower bevor shaped to the chin, and later gorget of two plate front and back
