AN ITALIAN ORMOLU-MOUNTED, IVORY, SPECIMEN MARBLE AND TORTOISESHELL-INLAID EBONY TABLE CABINET
EARLY 17TH CENTURY
Banded overall with geometric motifs, inset with various marble including verde antico, portasanta and africano, the spreading rectangular top with secret niche, above a pair of hinged doors inlaid conformingly and enclosing an architectural interior enriched with medallions, figures and cartouches, fitted with ten variously-sized drawers arranged around a central cupboard with secret well, above a moulded plinth fitted with a further two drawers, some ormolu elements later
