CASE: the central pedestal surmounted by a bust inscribed 'AESCULAPE', ribbon and torch mounts to its sides, lyre mount to the front above inscription 'AMICITIA PHILOSOPHIAE/H. DE R. A ALEX. LEBRETON', flanked by a standing female figure to one side, the other side with a tazza on column, with a serpent-entwined staff leaning against it, the plinth with relief mount of classical female holding a galleon, above lanceolate leaf cast base DIAL: ormolu serpent bezel to ormolu dial with painted chapters and engine-turned centre, signed on reserves 'LESIEUR PARIS/RUE DE TEMPLE', blued steel Breguet hands MOVEMENT: twin barrels with silk-suspended anchor escapement and countwheel strike on bell, the back plate signed 'LESIEUR'
