Lot Essay

The Bellevue factory was founded in 1756 but flourished after its acquisition by Charles Bayard, director of the Saint Clément faience factory, in 1771. Two years later the factory was granted a Royal warrant which lasted up to the revolution.
In 1807 it passed into the hands of the Aubry family who ran it successfully until the early 20th century.
