Each with drop-flap rectangular tops, the faux drawers at front forming hinged fall-down cupboard doors, on turned legs terminating in brass caps and castors, the doors stamped 'HOLLAND & SONS', the castors stamped 'COPE/& COLLINSON/PATENT'

Lot Essay

W. Holland and Sons supplied a large amount of furniture to Croxteth Hall during the end of the nineteenth century. The firm was also employed extensively at Sefton House, London. They not only supplied furniture but also were contracted for spring-cleaning, general household repairs as well as the seasonal closing and re-opening of the London residence when the family withdrew to Croxteth Hall.
