the brass inlaid case on bun feet with detached Corinthian columns supporting the breakarch top surmounted by five pineapple finials, with pierced tracery sound frets to the sides, the painted dial signed JAMES MC.CABE Royal Exchange London 3161, with Roman chapters and gilt fleur-de-lis hands, subsidiary calendar rings in the arch, with Strike/Silent lever, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, quarter chiming on eight bells with hour strike on gong, pendulum holdfast to the similarly signed backplate -- 29in.(74cm.) high
