the case with handle to bell top, gilt-metal foliate quarter frets to front door, the dial signed John Smith LONDON on the silvered chapter ring, the matted centre with calendar aperture, pierced blued hands, foliate spandrels, Strike/Silent ring in the arch, the four ringed pillar twin wire fusee movement now with anchor escapement, strike on bell, the backplate engraved with foliate scrolls, floral engraved movement securing brackets to the case, some splitting and losses to veneer, one sound fret panel damaged -- 19in.(48.5cm.) high
