A Regency mahogany longcase clock
the case line-inlaid with satinwood and ebony, the hood with swan-neck pediment with brass caps (damaged), ebonised outset brass-capped fluted columns, fret-carved door, the trunk door with oval patera of musical trophies against a harewood reserve, flanked by fluted pilasters, on plinth with circle of line inlay and bracket feet, the painted dial signed T. James Bath with subsidiary seconds ring and mock calendar aperture, the spandrels depicting amorini throughout the seasons, with scene of two churches in the arch, the four pillar rack striking movement with falseplate stamped Chance James & Chance with anchor escapement -- 88in.(223cm.) high
