Lying in Weybridge, Surrey (EHD)
Château Mouton Rothschild--Vintage 1987
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
In original wooden cases
Lots 700-708 Excellent appearance. Levels into neck. Lot 709 slightly damaged lid. Five excellent appearance, six slightly damaged labels and one bin soiled label. Levels into neck
Tasting Note: Just three notes: attractive mid-term drinking (1990) and, on its tenth birthday, prettily coloured; attractive, biscuity, fruity nose which, after 50 minutes in the glass powered out, as if impatient to join the '86. Easily the best bouquet. On the palate, spicy, distinctive, singed, chaptalised sort of flavour, but departing with a bitter finish. Last tasted June 1997 *** M.B.
