The large document box with rounded corners and fitted lid decorated in varicolored gold and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi, kirikane and nashiji with a landscape scene of pines, rolling hills, a meandering river emptying into a lake, a small tower and a flock of plovers in flight, the hollows of the rocks uchikomi, the design continuing on the sides, the underside of the lid decorated in togidashi with cranes and waves wading among reeds below nashiji clouds; the interior nashiji, rims silver
