Meiji period (late 19th century), signed Ritsuo (Ogawa Haritsu; 1663-1747)
Of rectangular form, carved to simulate an ink cake, each side with a sunken panel, one with a hawk perched on a pine branch, the other with an owl perched on an oak branch; signature on owl panel, the interior nashiji with fundame risers
