CASE: elaborate carved cresting and cornices, trunk door with wreath-carved lenticle frame, above tetrafoil-inlaid plinth raised on later skirting, with inventory label 'Cowdray/306/1919' to inside door DIAL: 10¾ in. square brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels, signed along lower edge 'Joseph Norris London', silvered chapter ring, matted centre with date aperture and subsidiary seconds ring, replaced hands MOVEMENT: latched movement with arched plates joined by five pillars, formerly with alarm and bolt-and-shutter work, high position countwheel to back plate for strike on bell, replaced escapement, alterations and replaced wheelwork to movement; two brass weights, pendulum
