Oblong and on four shell and flower cast foliage feet, the border similarly cast and with cornucopia handles, engraved with a coat-of-arms, the back engraved with an inscription, marked on the reverse

The arms are those of Taylor with a crescent for difference impaling those of Disbrowe, for Sir Herbert Taylor, second son of the Revd Edward Taylor (1734-1798), of Bifrons, Kent, Rector of Patrixbourne, and his wife, Margaret, daughter of Thomas Payler of Ileden, Kent, and his wife Charlotte Albinia, daughter of Edward Disbrowe of Walton Hall, Derbyshire, Vice-Chamberlain to Queen Charlotte, and granddaughter of the 3rd Earl of Buckingham.
The inscription reads 'Given to Major General Herbert Taylor, upon his Marriage By Their Royal Highnesses The Duke & Duchess of York The Duke of Cambridge The Princess Augusta The Princess Sophia The Hereditery Princess of Hesse Hombourg The Duchess of Gloucester The 5th of October 1819'
