Lot Essay

Julian Barrow studied painting in Florence before returning to the UK where he has contributed regularly to exhibitions at the Fine Art Society in London. Best known for his depictions of country houses, his studio in Tite Street, Chelsea is that formerly used by Sargent, Whistler and Augustus John.
