South India, Tamilnadu, Vijayanagara period, circa 14th century
Standing on a circular lotus base over a stepped plinth, wearing a long striated dhoti, secured by a belt with sashes extending on either side, the face with large almond-shaped eyes surmounted by a high conical crown and backed by a halo
