Bhutan, 17th Century
Seated on a double-lotus base with wide petals and beaded rim, holding a vajra in his left hand and a skull cup in his right, dressed in flowing robes with incised hems that billow on to the base, the face with raised urna flanked by large pendant earrings topped by a feathered lama's cap and backed by a flaming nimbus and aureole
