The hinged top enclosing a fitted interior with a hinged ratcheted green baize writing surface with another compartment beneath, with a dummy drawer above nine drawers about the kneehole and a further three recessed on shaped bracket feet

Provenance
Almost certainly supplied to Thomas Taylor, 1st Lord Headfort and later 1st Earl of Bective in the mid-eighteenth century. Thence by descent at Headfort House, Co. Meath, Ireland, until offered Sotheby's, London, 22 November 2006, lot 174 (one of two similar desks.)
