George Lepape was known in Paris for his work in publications that included La Gazette du Bon Ton, the foremost monthly fashion publication in Paris (1912-1925), Harper's Bazaar and Femina. Lepape designed his first Vogue cover in 1916 and completed 116 covers before World War II.
