A RARE SMALL BRONZE RITUAL TRIPOD VESSEL AND COVER, DING
LATE SPRING AND AUTUMN/EARLY WARRING STATES PERIOD, CIRCA 5TH CENTURY BC
The globular body raised on three low supports and cast around the sides in low relief with two bands of dismembered dragon pattern reserved on a granular ground separated by a plain narrow border, with S-scrolls on both sides of the upright handles and a narrow band of cowrie shells on the outer edges, the domed cover with a decorative band interrupted by three bird-form finials surrounding a central whorl motif formed by four dragon-headed C-scrolls, with dark brownish-grey patina and mottled malachite encrustation
