A CARVED THREE-COLOR LACQUER RUYI SCEPTER
18TH CENTURY
Finely carved through layers of red, green and ochre, the ruyi-shaped head with two immortals and an attendant on a terrace in a lakeside retreat, the arched shaft carved with a similar scene reminiscent of a hanging scroll painting as immortals and attendants leisurely travel through the meandering landscape highlighted by pine trees, lakes and mountains, with key fret on the sides and wan diaper ground on the reverse
