Shown seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base with right hand raised and the left in dhyana mudra, wearing layered robes left open at the chest, the face with serene expression beneath the hair arranged in tight curls and surmounted by a tall usnisa, with a four-character inscription on the front of the base reading xian wu yu fo, and three characters on the back of the base, bo re pin

Lot Essay

The inscription on the front of the base, xian wu yu fo, refers to the name of the deity, and the three characters inscribed on the back of the base, bo re pin, may be translated as 'wisdom series.'
