A similar jar, also with Kangxi mark, in the Percival David Foundation is illustrated by J. Ayers and M. Sato, Sekai Toji Zenshu, vol. 15, Japan, 1983, pl. 257, and another was sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 29 April 2002, lot 658. Kangxi-marked examples with covers have also been illustrated: one in the Catalogue of a Special Exhibition of Ch'ing Dynasty Monochrome Porcelains in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, 1992, p. 61, no. 21, and one from the E.T. Hall Collection sold in our London rooms, 7 June 2004, lot 279.
