Lot Essay

The Kangxi mark found on this bowl is very unusual. It can be seen on a gilded porcelain dish molded with shou medallions that are painted in blue enamel in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated by Feng Xianming and Geng Baochang (eds.), Selected Porcelain of the Flourishing Qing Dynasty at the Palace Museum, Beijing, 1994, p. 91, no. 53.
